Our dear Edd Billig passed away on his birthday last year. On April 30th 2011, a tribute gig was held for him at The Amersham Arms in New Cross, London.
On the bill were two of his favourite bands, Ooberman and The Electric Soft Parade. Amazingly, Ooberman were persuaded out of retirement and made their way from Liverpool to perform. This was also The Electric Soft Parade’s first London gig in four years. Both groups had provided the soundtrack to many of Edd’s closest friendships.
Also performing were Edd’s brother Alex’s band Wolventrix and childhood friends Rob and James with The Vamp. Completing the bill, were the groups Edd was a part of: Apple Eyes, A Little Orchestra and The Hidden Messages.
Friends and family came from all over the world to pay tribute to Edd and enjoy a night that will be remembered for a very long time. £800.12 was raised for two charities: Cardiac Risk in the Young and theRuby Lambert Trust
